Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling may also be referred to as career counseling or vocational counseling. It is designed to help a person re-enter the labor force, change careers, enhance career trajectory, and optimize one’s earnings.
Some of the modalities used in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling include Career Counseling, Earnings Analysis, Labor Market Research and Analysis, developing a retaining plan, developing a self-employment plan, optimizing one’s earnings and placement through psychometric testing for traits such as aptitude, work values, interest, work personality, intellectual functioning, and social-emotional functioning.
Sometimes vocational rehabilitation counseling helps determines if a person is disabled temporarily or permanently based on mental or physical impairments.
